Hi, I’m Judy Manivong. Me and my family were one of the families that got affected by the Kona low storm. We had 8 acres in the Mahiko farms lots located in Waialua for about 9+ years. We got into farming to provide affordable produce for our local community.
We grew sugarcane, okra, eggplant, bok choy, papaya, banana, long beans, tomato, pumpkin, bitter melon, and so much more. Selling at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, and also supply to Dillingham Chinatown, and to distributors that distribute to our local grocery store.
Everything we grew is 100% flooded, everything is gone. Recovery will take a while, as we start from scratch and wait for new crops to grow again.
Anything helps a little goes a long way.
Mahalo from our family to yours.
