Our dear friend and coworker, Judy Jensen, and her family are going through a heartbreaking and overwhelming time with their sweet dog, Lola. Many of you know Judy from our new store, Gialos, where she works with us, and some may even remember her from years ago when she worked at my dad’s former store, The Earring Tabu. Judy, her husband Chris, and their two daughters love Lola deeply—she is truly part of their family.
Just a few weeks ago, 2-year-old Lola suddenly became very sick. After multiple vet visits without answers, she had to undergo emergency exploratory surgery. The doctors discovered that Lola had swallowed part of a squeaky toy, which had become lodged in her intestines.
Sadly, things became even more serious. Lola developed an infection and started turning septic, forcing another emergency surgery to remove 27 inches of her intestines. Since then, she has endured a blood transfusion and has been under 24/7 care at the animal hospital.
The good news is Lola is showing signs of hope—she has started eating and walking around again. But she is still not fully out of the woods, and her recovery will be long and closely monitored.
The financial burden from these emergency surgeries, transfusions, and round-the-clock care has already exceeded $20,000. While Judy and her family are doing everything they can, this is a crushing expense for anyone to shoulder alone.
We are reaching out to ask for help. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward Lola’s medical bills and ongoing care. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign so we can spread the word and support this family during such a difficult time.
Lola is a fighter, and with a little help from our community, we can give her the chance to grow up with the family who adores her.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.
