About Jud-Jud: My ESA, My Companion, My Healer, My Heart
My name is Karina, and I recently graduated with a degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration. I work full-time as a Domestic Violence Advocate, supporting survivors and communities across New Jersey. But today, I’m not writing to ask for help for a client—I’m asking for help for my pup Jud-Jud, who has stood by me through every storm.
Jud is more than a pet, he is family. Jud is also my emotional support animal, my loyal shadow, and my soft place to land when the weight of the world becomes too much. As someone who works closely with trauma survivors, Jud is my daily reminder to breathe, to stay grounded, and to keep going, even when the work is heavy.
Recently, Jud was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of cancer that—without treatment, can progress rapidly. He’s just (6) six years old. After several vet visits, tests, and tough conversations, we made the decision to begin chemotherapy, which could give him the gift of more time, more tail wags, and more cuddles.
The emotional toll of this has been overwhelming, but the financial one has been nearly impossible.
Why I’m Asking for Help
Despite working two jobs (including as a cashier on weekends), I simply can’t cover the full cost of Jud’s care. His treatment plan includes chemotherapy, prescription medications, supplements, and vet monitoring, which altogether add up to several thousand dollars. I’ve already dipped into my limited savings and taken on debt, but I can’t do this alone.
If you’ve ever loved a dog, you’ll understand why I’m fighting with everything I have to give Jud a chance at healing. He’s not ready to give up, and neither am I.
Where Your Donation Goes
Every dollar you give helps me:
- Cover Jud’s weekly chemotherapy sessions
- Afford his veterinary prescriptions and supportive medications
- Purchase the nutritional supplements recommended for immune support
- Pay for lab work and follow-ups to monitor his progress
No amount is too small. Truly. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your help means Jud gets more good days, more walks, more naps on the couch, and more time in the world where he is so deeply loved.
If You Can’t Donate, Please Share
Even if you’re not able to contribute financially, you can still help. Share this campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, anyone who’s ever loved a dog like family.
With love and gratitude,
Karina, Eric & Jud
