Help Judith Find Safety and Stability

Judith is a resilient and beloved 65-year-old woman who’s a well-known part of the UCLA and USC community. After bravely escaping domestic violence and losing her home, she’s been living on the streets, where she faces physical and sexual assaults from other homeless men almost every night. I’ve had to take her to the hospital numerous times, and it’s clear that she urgently needs a safer place to live.

when I found and spoke to Judith for the first time, she had her hair glued together which she still needs to be restored or shaved, some teeth ripped out and unable to get looked at by a professional, also almost unable to move because of the pain from assault and can’t afford the proper medication.

Despite everything, Judith remains a beacon of faith and encouragement. She looks out for female students, encourages them to stay safe together, and shares messages of hope and faith. She doesn’t use drugs and is loved by local store owners and students who know her.

Now that Judith is back for the first time in over 15 years, she finally has access to a burner phone for a week. That has been the first step, but we have a real opportunity to help her move into stable housing. With your support, she can get off the streets, start the process of getting her personal identification back, and begin looking for a job.
