Hello, my name is Sandie and I'm fundraising on behalf of my mother. In September my mother was diagnosed with Cancer.

She is currently on a temporary leave from work while going to radiation and chemo treatments Monday through Friday at our cancer center here. She has worked at her job for over 25 years and hopes to beat her situation so she can go back to work. She is almost 60 years old and has trouble with most of todays technology so I have been helping her out. I am her caregiver right now.

Her work has exhausted all of her resources and she no longer has an income to help with the financial aspect of her situation . I have helped her apply for every aid and emergency funds, and gas vouchers to make sure we can get to all of her treatment appointments, but those take weeks to months. I have also helped her file for temporary disability as she was instructed to do, but that will take 5 months to go through. We have reached out to every foundation and relief aid that the center has signed us up for. One reached back out and informed us that if we haven't tried a go fund me then we haven't exhausted all our possibilities. I honestly never imagined that it would be so difficult for someone in this situation with no way of producing an income to get temporary help on the things that she needs. From making sure bills continue to get paid or gas so she can get her daily treatments, to the small things such as the lotion she needs from the radiation burns to toothpaste and toilet paper. So I am taking the advise given by one of the foundations representatives and I am reaching out through go fund me. It is really hard seeing her this way. She now weighs around 82 pounds and dropping. She can not drive. She can barely walk without assistance. I take her to every appointment and wait there with her. I was able to cover rent for November. I am a single mother of two kids and now her caregiver and I myself no longer have the financial backing to help her on my own. We just need temporary help while she is battling cancer till we can both get back on our feet. I just want to see my mom beat this and get better and not end up in a worse situation then when we started this journey together. It feels strange to ask for donations for our situation but anything at all would greatly help her out right now.
