My best friend Jessica Diab and her husband Marwan Diab worked so hard for over a year to save and take their two kids on their first family holiday to the Gold Coast. 

Judd (3) and Layla (2) have never been on a plane before and were so excited to go to SeaWorld to see the dolphins and to meet their idols at MovieWorld. 

With a 14 day Theme Park passes in hand, The Diab Family landed from Melbourne in the Gold Coast and started their holiday and everything seemed perfect. They had all waited so long for this moment and then, the unthinkable happened. 

On the third day of their holiday, Judd had a major fall and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital where Doctors discovered that Judd had fractured his skull which led to a bleed on the brain and he is not able to stand up or walk. An MRI revealed the next day that he had developed a large blood clot blocking his entire left jugular vein. 

Doctors at the Gold Coast University Hospital we're unable to treat Judd due to the severity of his condition as they were not equiped if something went horribly wrong. Judd was transferred to the Lady Cliento Children's Hospital in Brisbane, which is an hours drive away from where the Diab family is staying. 

Judd has gone from a lively and sweet little boy to confused, frustrated and scared. 

He is going to need rehabilitation to get him walking properly again and he will also need 2 injections of blood thinning medication per day for the next 3-6 months. He needs to wear a soft helmet at all times and needs 24 hour supervision to make sure no further injuries occur.
A small cut or knock to the head while on blood thinning medication could be fatal. This means Jessica is not going to be able to work possibly for up to 6 months. 

Jessica and Marwan have been driving back and forth between the Gold Coast and the Hospital an hour each way, both taking alternating shifts to stay with Judd during the nights he has been in hospital. 

Judd was supposed to be discharged from hospital today 25th March 2019, which would have still given Judd enough time to make it back to SeaWorld to see the Dolphins and meet Batman at MovieWorld before he headed home on Friday 29/03/2019 to continue recovery and treatment. 

However due to Judd's condition, his admission is going to be stretched out, with an MRI booked in on Wednesday to see if there has been any movement on the clot and to check that the bleed has stopped. Judd will be discharged on Thursday afternoon, which means he will be on a plane the next day straight home without getting to meet Batman or see the Dolphins. He asks Jessica and Marwan every single day "Mum, Dad, When can I see the Dolphins and Batman?"

With all of the unexpected expenses that have come up since Judd's accident, Jessica and Marwan cannot afford to extend their stay to salvage what is left of a family holiday for Judd and Layla. 

I want to raise some funds for Jessica and Marwan to be able to extend their stay in the Gold Coast by 4 days (accommodation and passes to SeaWorld and MovieWorld), and so Jessica and Marwan can try to unwind even just slightly before they come home to a long road to recovery for little Judd. 

Please help Judd stay in the Gold Coast a little longer to see the Dolphins and meet Batman.
