Help Jubilee and family with medical recovery

To my family and friends. Rarely, we would ever ask for financial help. As you all may know, severe medical issues can take a toll on a family especially one as large as ours with 8 children. This will be a long recovery for Jubilee and require some extra assistance.

Jubilee is a major health nut and as a parent to a seven-year-old that is a blessing. She willingly chooses healthy eating choices and loves to advocate for the well-being of animals and her peers, she also loves to be physically active.

Jubilee suddenly took a turn for the worse and began having seizures and loss of function on the right side of her body and developed blurry vision.

We immediately rushed her to NY Presbyterian where they took quick action. They ran an MRI and discovered a brain bleed in her left motor cortex, explaining the loss of use of the right side of the body and seizures.

She was admitted into the ICU where it was determined that an angiogram should be conducted at a minimum to diagnose the issue. The test indicated that she had a Cavernous Malformation which would not require immediate surgery but a future brain surgery in about 6 weeks.

Although she is currently stable and has regained some of her function back on the right side this will be a long road to recovery. She will need continued Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, repeat MRI scans, tests, brain surgery, and post-operative care.

We would appreciate any assistance as this will require changes in our lives. There is no amount too small, and please share and continue to pray for our family.

A mi familia y amigos. Es raro que alguna vez pidamos ayuda financiera. Como todos ustedes sabrán, los problemas médicos graves pueden pasar factura a una familia, especialmente a una tan grande como la nuestra con 8 hijos. Esta será una larga recuperación para Jubilee y requerirá ayuda adicional.

Jubilee es un gran fanático de la salud y, como padre de un niño de siete años, eso es una bendición. Elige voluntariamente opciones de alimentación saludable y le encanta defender el bienestar de los animales y de sus compañeros; también le encanta estar físicamente activa.

De repente, Jubilee empeoró y comenzó a tener convulsiones y pérdida de función en el lado derecho de su cuerpo y desarrolló una visión borrosa.

Inmediatamente la llevamos al NY Presbyterian, donde tomaron medidas rápidas. Le realizaron una resonancia magnética y descubrieron una hemorragia cerebral en su corteza motora izquierda, lo que explica la pérdida de uso del lado derecho del cuerpo y las convulsiones.

Fue ingresada en la UCI donde se determinó que se debía realizar como mínimo una angiografía para diagnosticar el problema. La prueba indicó que tenía una malformación cavernosa que no requeriría cirugía inmediata sino una futura cirugía cerebral en un lapso de aproximadamente 6 semanas.

Aunque actualmente se encuentra estable y ha recuperado parte de su función en el lado derecho, este será un largo camino hacia la recuperación. Necesitará fisioterapia continua, terapia ocupacional, resonancias magnéticas repetidas, pruebas, cirugía cerebral y cuidados posoperatorios.
