Help Juarez get lifesaving surgery

Donation protected
Anyone that knows me, knows that I hate asking for help. I won't ask for it unless we really need it. This weekend, we desperately need it. My sweet 10 year old pit bull, Juarez, needs it.

On Friday night, 9/20/19, Juarez was not acting right. He was lethargic,  his gums were pale, and his stomach was slightly swollen. I tried a few different things to see if he was just not feeling good in hopes that it would pass. He still didn't seem to improve, so we brought him to Horizon Veterinary Specialists around 10:30 pm.

The vet found blood in his abdomen and that he had low blood pressure. We did an ultrasound on Saturday 9/21 with an internist, and she discovered a ruptured mass near or on his spleen. It could be benign or cancerous, but we know it is bleeding into his abdomen.

We scheduled a surgery with a specialist and he needs a criticalist to be monitoring him during anesthesia since his blood pressure is so low. Juarez needed a blood transfusion before surgery in order to be stable enough to get through surgery. He was induced for surgery today, 9/22 at 11:00 am. The goal is to remove his spleen and look around to see if the mass has spread anywhere else, and hopefully get all of it.

We don't know if the mass is attached to anything else, or if it is removable. We won't know that until after surgery. We don't know how long its been there or if it is cancerous. All we know is that we have to try to help him, as long as it is in his best interest to fight.

He has been on an IV, pain meds and round the clock hospital care since Friday night, and he will need to stay at the hospital for 48 hours after the procedure to make sure he is stable enough to come home. We have been able to see him a few times a day every day, and each visit he looks more and more hopeful. He wants to come home, so we had to make the decision to do all we can to make that happen.

We already put down a deposit of $10,772.51 for the initial diagnostics and the surgery. His costs will likely climb if he needs another blood transfusion or any additional medications.  We don't really have the money, but we couldn't let that stop us. We just want to take our baby home again to let him live out his life happy and healthy.

Any amount is extremely appreciated. If you cant help financially, please keep my sweet boy in your thoughts/ prayers and share in hopes someone else can.
