It’s been a little over two years that our father, Juan Pineda Gutierrez, suffered an aneurysm causing traumatic brain injury that left him facing a long and challenging road to recovery. He’s been living in a facility since his release from the hospital in June 2023. Our father is a loving and strong individual who was always willing to help others. He has touched many lives with his kindness. He’s been an amazing father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. Anytime you were around our dad, you were sure to be smiling and having a great time and probably eating some amazing birria.

We are urgently in need of support to cover his rehabilitation costs. He is currently attending a Head Injury Program that provides a comprehensive range of services for individuals with traumatic brain injuries to help them recover their lives and achieve independence. The rehab expenses are overwhelming and our family is doing everything we can, but it’s simply not enough. All his physical therapy is out of pocket and there remains a significant gap that we’re unable to bridge without financial support. We’ve also incurred the cost of hiring a personal caregiver to be with him at all times during his therapy session. This was necessary and required by the facility. We as a family hope that one day he’ll be able to get up from his wheelchair and walk.

Hace poco más de dos años que nuestro padre, Juan Pineda Gutierrez, sufrió un aneurisma que le causó una lesión cerebral traumática, lo que lo dejó frente a un largo y difícil camino hacia la recuperación. Ha estado viviendo en un centro desde que salió del hospital en Junio de 2023. Nuestro padre es una persona cariñosa y fuerte, siempre dispuesta a ayudar a los demás. A tocado muchas vidas con su bondad. Ha sido un padre, abuelo, esposo, hermano y amigo increíble. Siempre dispuesto a ayudar a los demás. Siempre que estabas cerca de nuestro padre, seguro que sonreías, lo pasabas genial y probablemente disfrutabas de una birria deliciosa.

Necesitamos apoyo urgente para cubrir sus gastos de rehabilitación. Actualmente asiste a un Programa de Lesiones en la Cabeza que ofrece una gama integral de servicios para personas con lesiones cerebrales traumáticas, ayudándolas a recuperar sus vidas y lograr su independencia. Los gastos de rehabilitación son abrumadores y nuestra familia está haciendo todo lo posible, pero simplemente no es suficiente. Toda su fisioterapia corre por cuenta propia y aún existe una brecha significativa que no podemos cubrir sin el apoyo financiero. Además del costo de la fisioterapia, también incurrimos en el costo de contratar a un cuidador personal para que lo acompañara en todo momento durante su sesión de terapia. Como familia, esperamos que algún día pueda levantarse de su silla de ruedas y caminar.

Mientras nuestra familia atraviesa esta nueva etapa para nuestro padre, nos unimos a la familia, a nuestros seres queridos y al apoyo de la comunidad.
