Help Juan's Family Rebuild After Tornado Loss

On Friday May 16th a Tornado ripped through St. Louis, devastating historical neighborhoods, destroying cars and property, knocking out power, phones, and internet, and worst of all, taking lives.

My stepson lost his father in a tragic accident in the Carondelet neighborhood; A large tree was uprooted and crashed down onto his truck blocks from his home as he was trying to get back to his youngest two kids after work.

We are still struggling to process everything right now. Myself and my wife are trying to navigate grief with a sixteen year old boy who just lost his father. Juan was a father of 7 children in total. 3 here in the United States and 4 back in Mexico. He was well loved by all who knew him.. and known and loved in the Latino community for his kindness, generosity, and his support in the community. His street corn food truck, El Mandilon, was a staple at taco festivals and parking lots around the city. Everyone he ever met was instantly his friend, and this devastating loss will be felt for years to come. His wife is still navigating the thought of having to inform his 6 year old daughter and 3 year old youngest son that their father won't be coming home. His wife Rachel is a hard working woman.. who now has to go back to work to try and struggle to make payments on a house they just purchased as a single income widowed mother. They are the ones that will truly need help.

Anything raised will go to his kids, and his wife to cover costs of funeral arrangements, and to try to keep herself afloat as she tries to figure out finances and paying for the house and bills on her own. Thank you so much for anything you can give to help.
