This campaign is for my girlfriend's (Cinthya) father.
My father, Juan Bernal Moreno, is 62 years old. He and my mom make tamales and sell them in different towns of Jalisco 5 days per week. They've been doing this for the past 25 years as their only means to support our family. Not only does Juan help support the family with the business, but he keeps everyone upbeat and happy with his sense of humor
The past 10 years, Juan has been suffering from coxarthrosis in his right hip. He can't walk and is in constant pain.
Because of the injury, he has been unable to work, which has made it difficult for the family business to succeed.
The pain has caused him to be bedridden, and has decreased his usually silly personality
Originally, he was scheduled to have the surgery in March at a government run hospital, but the pandemic closed them and now it would be at least 2 years for the surgery there.
Next week, he is undergoing hip replacement surgery at Salud de los Enfermos, a private hospital in Guadalajara.
After the surgery, he has to rehab for 2 months, and then will be able to walk, work, and be pain free again.
The total cost for the surgery is 100,000 Mexican Pesos (around $5,000 USD).
In order to pay for the surgery now, our family took out a loan, which we need to pay back soon.
Our family is very close. We work together, eat together, and laugh together. Juan is a big reason we are still together, and this surgery will help him get back to working, having a normal life, and being the great father he has been.
It would mean so much to me for any help you can give. Thanks for reading, sharing, and any suppprt
