Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I hope this message finds you well. Today, I am reaching out with a plea for help on behalf of my mother, Juanita, who is facing a health crisis due to the unavailability of treatment on the island.

The Situation: Juanita has been diagnosed with kidney stones that are too large to pass on its own. Unfortunately, the medical facilities in our area lack the necessary resources to provide timely treatment. She was informed that Guam has two machines, sadly, both have been inoperable for more than a year. As a result, she is at risk of developing kidney failure or sepsis, both of which can be life-threatening if not addressed.

The Urgency: Time is of the essence. Every passing day without proper treatment increases the danger to Juanita’s health. We cannot stand by and watch our mother go through such unnecessary pain when there is hope for a better outcome for a condition that can be addressed to prevent a worsening situation.

The Treatment: Juanita urgently needs access to medical care. As discussed with St. Luke’s Medical Center, after further evaluation one of the following forms of treatment will be required:

• Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)

• Ureteroscopy with laser lithotripsy

• Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL)

We are humbly requesting your support. Your generous donations will directly contribute to Juanita’s airfare and treatment. No amount is too small.
