Hello this is our families story. The last two years have brought ongoing hardships we never expected. Affecting our health, our income, and our biggest loss losing our home in 2024 and losing our main source of income in November of 2023 and now again November 2025

Any action is meaningful:
Sharing this fundraiser is powerful

$1 up to $5 donations - my sister had great advice that small donations keep GoFundMe's visible and encourages more support

The money raised will go towards our medical emergency bills we are navigating as of December 6th, we have income loss for a 2nd time in 2 years with my husband being laid off on November 11, 2025 when the company he was working for decided to close operations and he received no severance.

In my sons words it’s been real doggy poo poo

Currently Juan is in recovery from an infected gallbladder that was about to rupture. He is being monitored and even from his recovery room, my husband is still applying for jobs and scheduling interviews this week and working out freelance opportunities, he is not letting any of this stop him and he is so caring and is the best father and husband our family could ask for (Update: as of 12/9 he was successfully discharged and at home continuing to improve go Juan!! We are so relieved)

How the funds will be used:
Funded as of 12/9/2025 thank you!!!!!! Medical bills: Urgent care surgery costs, overnight care, a 4-day hospital stay for post-surgery monitoring of infection, treatments, medications, and follow-up care

• Once our campaign hits $2,200+ all money will go to Debt relief and income loss fund: This will drastically stabilize our families life we have rebuilt since losing our home in 2024 and ensure we don’t have to disrupt our son’s life for a second time

If you have time to read, here is our full family’s story of enduring hardship. If you’d like to know the crises we’ve faced in a really short period of time

Our Story

In November 2023, everything shifted when my husband unexpectedly lost his job. My income covered necessities, but it wasn’t enough to keep us stable. We took on debt simply to prevent things from getting worse. Because I was still earning $$, we didn’t qualify for forbearance programs, and so we faced an ultimate loss of housing our family under one roof. My husband worked freelance jobs while interviewing and eventually found full-time work again, but the recovery came too late. We had already lost our home by the time he secured a new full time job.

At that time, our household included our son Logi, and my husband’s mother, Dora. Losing our home meant we had to separate and stay wherever we could while we tried to regain our footing.

Dora was kindly taken in by church friends, and the three of us have the kindest friends Mike and Suzanne who had a spare room for Nessa Logi and Juan to stay in. Their generosity gave us the breathing room we needed to start rebuilding.

Since Winter 2023 we have managed our debts and eventually were able to move into a small apartment again. It finally felt like we had a foundation beneath us forming.

But in the winter of 2025, we were hit by a second major financial crisis with this unexpected medical emergency and now facing a second income loss. If anyone is familiar with the video game industry it is quite harsh and layoffs are common, but it is the industry both Nessa and Juan work in. It is just unfortunate that we were hit pretty hard twice with no severance.

Thank you for reading our story. Your compassion truly helps our family move toward a safer, healthier future.

Additional personal details to get to know who you are supporting:

Our son is also in early development programs and is in speech and physical therapy. We are so proud of him and how hard our son works in school and therapy.

By supporting this campaign you also support our little one who has had to transition and move 2 different times due to our hardships. To say we feel incredible guilt to have him navigate these changes is an understatement. But we prioritize his well being through all of this and ensure that despite changing counties and setting new services up, that we don't delay the support he needs ever.

We are cosplayers, spending the past year of 2025 spreading positivity in our community. Even with our hardships we want to be there for others and be a positive influence.

Both me and my husband love anime, manga, and video games and have loved introducing our hobbies and passions with our son.

Lastly Abuelita Dora, we need to ensure we stabilize our family for her sake too as she depends on us. We hope to give her a safe place and house her too again since losing our home.
