Hello,

 

My name is John - or as most of you might know me by, JuanderfulJuans.

 

I am beginning a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to leave my parents' home.

 

A lot of people know the basics of my home life: it isn't great. But most people do not know the details.

 

I live in - and grew up in - an incredibly abusive home. From physical abuse, verbal abuse, emotional abuse, to assorted other traumas, I have had to endure a lot because of the place that I was born - and who my parents are.

 

I don't want to get into too much detail, but this has never been a safe home for me to live in. It is a place I have lived out of necessity, primarily because my mother is very controlling and has actively tried to stop me from being able to leave. She did this when I was a teenager by not allowing me to learn to drive, she did this as a young adult by overtly sabotaging me in my professional pursuits, and now that I am a first generation college student - she has done her best to try and keep me from graduating.

 

But enough is enough - and after years of effort, I am finally prepared to leave.

 

This upcoming year will be my last year of college. I will be graduating at 26 years old next May, and will be pursuing my teaching certification and moving out.

 

But I need help to make that happen.

 

While I will have the majority of expenses covered from my savings over the course of time, I still need a bit more funding to make it happen.

 

In order to do this, I will be raising money via my Twitch.TV streams over the course of the summer of 2021. There will also be a NintendoProject-style charity marathon to try and raise funds as well.

 

I very much appreciate anything you guys are able to contribute to help me - it cannot be understated how much this community has meant to me in my survival over the years.
