Dear friends and family,
On May 3rd of this year, I accompanied my wife, Juana, to the emergency room after she had endured unrelenting bouts of weakness and nausea. Little did we know that she would be admitted and diagnosed with high blood pressure, which was exacerbated by her previous diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. As a result, she has since experienced unexpected vision loss that has already compromised every aspect of her life so far. My wife is the hardest-working person I know, working full-time before she was 20, so much so that she has refused to take very much-needed time off from work to rest and address the issue at hand. I help her the best I can, providing her with transportation to her demanding job, but it is only a matter of time before we can no longer prolong the inevitable need for her to take time off for treatment and recovery. Her sight is incredibly precious to us, and we are currently facing a number of difficult situations regarding her health and the financial implications of seeking medical help. She needs life-changing surgery on both eyes to preserve and improve her vision. The direct and indirect costs of these procedures are substantial, placing a significant financial strain on our family as we address the outstanding charges while also suffering from her loss of income as she takes multiple weeks off to recuperate. It pains me to see my wife so distressed while remaining so strong, and as much as I wish I could take her pain on as my own or remove it completely, I have come to the conclusion that the best way I can support my wife now is to seek out the support of others that care for her almost as much as I do. It is during this challenging time that our family would humbly appreciate any financial contribution, no matter the size. Any amount would be deeply appreciated and make a meaningful difference in her journey to better eyesight and a better life overall. Thank you for all your support, it truly means the world to us.
