Hello! My name is Juana A. struggling with Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer since November 13, 2020. As soon as I found out about my diagnosis, I started an aggressive approach of chemotherapy that lasted from December 2020-May 2021. Following the chemotherapy, I had surgery to get rid of my breast cancer, which had spread into my armpit area. According to testing conducted afterward, doctors were very optimistic that my cancer was gone. In addition to my surgery, I also underwent radiation treatment from June 2021-to September 2021.
I tried to continue doing what I love to do during my cancer treatments, running and working. In January 2022, I started experiencing shooting pain in my right thigh, which was unbearable. I could not sleep in any position, could not walk, could not sit down. It was taking a toll on my life. I went to the ER couple of times, and no one could help me. Finally, one of the ER doctors ordered an MRI and found out that I had a malignant tumor on one of my spinal lumbar that was pressing on my nerves, making it impossible to even think about anything else.
On February 18, 2022, I underwent surgery to remove the malignant tumor, also part of the Triple Negative Metastatic Carcinoma. My neurosurgeons have done more CT Scans and found out that my tumors have populated my brain. There's no cure for this condition except slowing it down. My oncologists say that I would die if I did nothing in the next two months. Oncologists told me to start working on my death directives as I do not know how my body will respond to radiation to my brain. I'm still recovering from my back surgery and will continue with radiation treatments.
Things are so uncertain right now! I am the mother of two young men going to college. They need me so much, and my life is getting cut short. Things are getting tough! I feel so helpless and hopeless! I'm not ready to go yet!!
Your financial support means the world to my children and me. It is critical during and after I pass because it will cover their college expenses. I want to THANK YOU for everything you do!!!
