Juana is my 2-year-old dog, and I’ve had her since she was just three weeks old. When I first found her near the border in Tijuana, she was all alone—no mom or littermates in sight. Her eyes were barely open, and she was still stumbling to walk. I bottle-fed her for the first five weeks, doing my best to be the mom she needed. Since then, Juana has become such a special part of my life. She loves people and gets so excited whenever anyone visits, always greeting them with her wagging tail and wet kisses. Our bond is incredibly strong because of everything we went through together when she was a puppy. She’s more like a little human than a dog—so talkative, full of personality, and always high-spirited. Seeing her slowed down and in pain breaks my heart, and I’m doing everything I can to get her the help she needs as quickly as possible.

Today, Juana broke her leg and needs urgent orthopedic surgery. The vet says she’ll need an operation, medication, and follow-up care to recover fully. The cost is more than I can afford, and she needs the surgery as soon as possible to relieve her pain and help her get back to her energetic, happy self. Watching her struggle is so hard, and I want nothing more than to see her healthy and pain-free again.
