My aunt Juana is the heart of our family—a mother of four, grandmother to two beautiful girls, and the matriarch who has always put her loved ones first. She immigrated to the United States in search of a better future for herself and her children, working hard every day and showing kindness and compassion to everyone she meets. Juana has never committed a crime and is known for her strength and generosity.
Recently, Juana was stopped and detained by ICE on her way home from work. If her video hadn’t been sent to family, we wouldn’t have known what happened to her. She was detained in Grants Pass and then driven straight to Tacoma, Washington, without ever being processed in the Medford ICE facility. Now, she is facing a deportation order and is separated from her family, including her youngest daughter Bianca, who is just 10 years old.
We are raising money to help Juana fight this legal battle. The funds will go toward her legal fees, facility expenses, supporting her family during this incredibly hard time, and a potential immigration bond to help get Juana released so she can fight her case at home, surrounded by her loved ones. If she is released, it could be a long legal process, but we are trying to stay positive and hopeful. We take comfort in knowing where she is and being able to communicate with her.
We want to humbly thank anyone who donates or shares Juana’s story. Your kindness is deeply appreciated. We also ask that you lift her up in prayer. Thank you to all who have reached out in support. This gives our family a little light during such a dark and trialing time.
