Meet Juan (John), a beautiful 4-year-old boy full of joy, courage, and an infectious smile that melts hearts. Born on 23 March, 2021, Juan was diagnosed with Bilateral Cerebral Palsy (GMFCS Level IV), a condition that affects his mobility and muscle control. Despite his challenges, Juan is an intelligent, bright and loving child who adores going to school—a place where, for the first time, he has been fully embraced by his peers and the wider community

Why We Need Your Help

Juan’s parents, Ambar and Alan, moved to the UK from Chile with hope in their hearts. They wanted to give their son access to the world-class medical care and inclusive education that every child deserves. While Juan’s school has been amazing, his journey towards mobility has been much harder.

Juan was recently seen by a Neurodisability Specialist at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, who confirmed that his tendons are shortening, and without regular physiotherapy, his condition will worsen. He urgently needs 3-4 physiotherapy sessions per week to improve his mobility, but due to NHS shortages and long waiting lists, these vital sessions are simply not available in these difficult times.

His parents are doing everything they can. Alan works full time to support his family, but with very high living costs and Ambar unable to work due to Juan’s care needs, they cannot afford the private physiotherapy Juan desperately requires.

What Your Support Means

We are raising funds to cover the initial phase of physiotherapy, giving Juan the best chance to move more freely, gain independence.

While it's likely that Juan will need ongoing treatment beyond this, we hope this fund raiser will set him on the right path to one day, taking his first unaided steps. Every donation, no matter how small, will bring Juan closer to the treatment he needs.

Ambar and Alan are people of faith, trusting in God’s plan and the kindness of those around them. They are not ones to ask for help, but as a friend who has seen their struggle and their unwavering love for Juan, I know that there are many parents, friends, and kind souls out there who would want to support this brave little boy.
