Help Save Juan Semidei – He’s Fighting for His Life
Right now, my uncle, Juan Semidei, is fighting for his life.
Just months ago, he was the man who lit up every room, smiling, dancing, telling stories, and reminding everyone around him to enjoy life. Today, he is critically ill, waiting for a heart transplant that he urgently needs to survive.
He was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico, where he grew into the kind of man every community hopes for. He didn’t just live there; he gave back. As a youth baseball coach, he mentored and guided kids, becoming a father figure to so many. Off the field, he dedicated 29 years to working in the correctional system, helping families and inmates find direction, structure, and hope.
That’s who he is! He is a man who has spent his entire life showing up for others.
In 2019, everything changed. He was diagnosed with heart failure and was forced to retire. Even after getting a pacemaker, his condition continued to decline.
Then in February 2026, our worst fear became reality: He went into cardiogenic shock. That’s when doctors told us:
He needs a heart transplant, and he needs it urgently.
Now, every day is a fight.
But here’s what hasn’t changed:
His love for his family.
His strength.
His will to keep going.
He loves to smile, dance, and tell stories that bring people together. He is a devoted and loving father and grandfather who has always worked hard to provide for his family and to support the next generation. He still has so much love and light to give to this world!
We are asking for your help through this journey. A heart transplant is not just a surgery; it comes with enormous costs: ICU stays, medications, recovery, and lifelong care.
We cannot do this alone.
If he has ever reminded you of someone you love: a father, a grandfather, a husband, a brother, a mentor…please consider helping him today.
Every single donation matters.
And if you can’t donate, please share this. That alone could help save his life.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, your support, and your kindness during this incredibly difficult time.
Please help us give my uncle the chance to keep living.
God Bless You,
Sincerely, our family!
