My father Juan, was living his life to the fullest, but once COVID-19 struck his life changed in an instant.  As a result of COVID Pneumonia, Juan is currently battling for his life in the ICU, and is on a ventilator.  Due to COVID complications, Juan developed blood clots in his legs, which led him to undergo surgery to clear them, however Juan was intubated due to becoming unstable during surgery. Despite receiving surgery to clear the blood clots, Juan is still experiencing complications and he may need to under go surgery for an amputation, as there is no blood flowing to his right foot. Due to the Pneumonia, Juan is unable to have the surgery to try to save as much of his foot as possible, as he is not currently stabilized enough to handle surgery. There is concern about the blood loss spreading up his ankle to his leg as well. As of now, the risk of losing his foot is extremely high, and Juan will have to change his life completely by learning to adapt to living with a prosthetic foot at the age of 67.  Juan has been providing for himself and family members for years, and won’t be able to return to work even upon his recovery, and will lose his current job. The costs of medication, medical equipment, overdue bills, and medical costs will be astronomical, and he will not be able to pay for even the most basic necessities such as groceries.  Juan has dedicated 20 years of his life and shared his passion of soccer with his community. Juan has held soccer tournaments, and has used his passion of soccer to work with undocumented workers, recovering alcoholics and addicts, and has worked with oppositional teens in his community.  Juan has achieved the highest award by the city map of Perth Amboy due to his longterm devotion to his career, and city. Juan has a long road to recovery and we are hoping for the best during this challenging time. Due to the astronomical financial struggle that we know will occur, we are asking for donations to help Juan. Any amount, whether it is small or large will be extremely helpful as this will be a challenging time for Juan and his family to help support him once he recovers.  Any prayers and positive thoughts are also greatly appreciated during this difficult time.

Juan vivía su vida al máximo, hasta que tristemente se contagió de COVID-19 y su vida cambio en un instante. Por resultado de un neumonía causada Por COVID, Juan ahora está batallando por su vida en cuidados intensivos (UCI), con un respirador atado a su cuerpo acompañado por otras complicaciones. COVID creó coágulos en sus piernas, por lo cual perdió sangre en el pie derecho, y si las complicaciones persisten Juan va a requerir una cirugía para amputar el pie derecho. Por ahora, el riesgo de la perdida de sangre en su pie permanece alto, y los médicos no pueden conducir la cirugía hasta que empiece a respirar sin ayuda del respirador. Por lo cual, la perdida de sangre del pie derecho sigue expandiéndose hasta el resto de la pierna. Si esto sucede, Juan va a tener que cambiar su vida completamente y adaptarse a caminar con un pie prostético a la edad de 67 años. Juan es el proveedor de su hogar y los costos de la medicina, equipo prostético y deudas acumuladas por estar en el hospital van a ser astronómicas. Lamentablemente, nuestro querido Juan no podrá trabajar, y pronto perderá su trabajo actual. Juan a dedicado más de 20 años de su vida al deporte. Sobre todo, compartiendo su pasión por el futbol creando torneos anuales, los cuales incluyeron: trabajadores indocumentados, alcohólicos en recuperación, y jóvenes con problemas de comportamiento. De esa manera él usaba el deporte sano para promover una actividad familiar. Por sus méritos lo llevaron a ganarse el reconocimiento más grande que es el mapa de la ciudad de Perth Amboy, gracias a su devoción por el futbol y a su ciudad.
