One Heart, A Thousand Heartbeats: Help Us Help Juan Diego

“God gave Juan Diego a strong heart, but at just five months old, he needs our help to keep it beating.”

We are Renata and José Pablo, Juan Diego’s parents. During my pregnancy, we were told that our baby had a small heart defect that might resolve on its own. But when he was born, we discovered a much more difficult reality: his heart needed urgent help to keep fighting.

We traveled to Houston in search of the best medical care, but that very same night, Juan Diego ended up in the emergency room. What we thought would be a simple evaluation turned into a month-long hospital stay. By the grace of God and thanks to the entire medical team, they were able to stabilize him and perform a temporary surgery that gave him the strength to keep moving forward.

Today, Juan Diego needs open-heart surgery and continued specialized medical care. Unfortunately, our health insurance has already exhausted its coverage for his congenital heart condition, and his medical expenses are beyond what we can afford on our own.

That is why we are asking for your help today. Any donation, no matter the amount, brings us one step closer to giving Juan Diego the opportunity to live and grow. Un corazón, mil latidos: ayudemos a Juan Diego

“Dios le dio a Juan Diego un corazón fuerte, pero con apenas cinco meses, necesita de nuestra ayuda para seguir latiendo.”

Somos Renata y José Pablo, los papás de Juan Diego. Cuando estaba embarazada, nos dijeron que nuestro bebé tenía un pequeño problema en el corazón que quizá se resolvería solo. Al nacer descubrimos una realidad mucho más difícil: su corazón necesitaba ayuda urgente para seguir luchando.

Viajamos a Houston buscando la mejor atención médica, pero esa misma noche terminó en urgencias. Lo que parecía una revisión se convirtió en un mes de hospitalización. Gracias a Dios y a todo el personal médico, lograron estabilizarlo y realizarle una cirugía temporal que le dio fuerzas para seguir adelante.

Hoy Juan Diego necesita una cirugía de corazón abierto y continuar con su tratamiento especializado. Desafortunadamente, nuestro seguro médico ya agotó la cobertura para su enfermedad congénita, y los gastos médicos superan nuestras posibilidades.
