Hello, my name is Juan.
I’m a gay Venezuelan currently living in the U.S., facing serious challenges and risks if I am unable to relocate to Canada soon. Returning to Venezuela is not an option due to safety concerns, and overstaying in the U.S. beyond August 2026 could put me in an extremely precarious and unsafe situation.
I am actively searching for a job in Toronto, but I also need to simultaneously cover the essential costs of relocating, including housing, travel, and documentation. Your support will allow me to take both steps at the same time — securing employment opportunities while preparing a safe place to live.
I’m raising funds for these essential expenses:
$750 – French language exam (Alliance Française) and travel to Chicago to take it
$230 – Canadian work permit and biometrics fees
$300 – One-way flight to Toronto
$2,800 – First and last month’s rent for a small studio (I have a cat, so I need my own space)
$400 – Pet deposit and basic move-in costs
$520 – Emergency cushion for unexpected expenses
Total goal: $5,000 USD
Every donation, no matter the size, will help me relocate safely and continue my job search in Toronto, taking critical steps toward a stable and independent life. If you cannot donate, sharing this page with friends, family, or on social media is just as valuable.
Thank you so much for your support, encouragement, and belief in this next chapter of my life.
— Juan
