If you know Ju, you know just how special she is. She is an incredibly talented artist — passionate, dedicated and deeply committed to her craft. She is constantly studying, learning and pouring herself into her art, with the sensitivity and determination that are so much a part of who she is.

But Ju is so much more than her talent. She is loving, thoughtful and generous, Luiz’s beloved wife, and a dear friend to so many wonderful people who are now ready to stand beside her.

Recently, life asked Ju to be incredibly brave.

Ju was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer, which meant there was very little time to process the news before she had to take action. Everything happened very quickly. She has already undergone major breast surgery, and soon she will begin the next stage of her journey: a long course of treatment, including chemotherapy.

And in the middle of all of this, there is another precious dream that needs protecting: Ju and Luiz’s dream of starting a family.

Before beginning chemotherapy, Ju needs to undergo fertility preservation to protect her eggs and, with them, the possibility of their future little babies. Even while dealing with everything happening right now, they are also having to think about and protect the future they have always dreamed of building together.

Ju does not have access to Medicare, which means the financial cost of her care is significant. The surgery alone came with an enormous expense, and unfortunately, that was only the beginning. There are still medical appointments, tests, medications, fertility preservation and the ongoing costs of cancer treatment ahead.

There is still a long road to travel. And that is why we are here.

Through everything, Ju and Luiz remain strong, united and incredibly optimistic about her treatment and prognosis. And all of us who love them share that optimism. There is so much hope, so many plans, so much art still to be created, and so much life waiting for Ju beyond this chapter.

But optimism doesn’t make the practical reality disappear.

Along with all the love and emotional support we can give them, right now they also need financial support. We want to make sure that while Ju and Luiz navigate everything that comes with a cancer diagnosis and a long treatment ahead, they don’t also have to carry the full financial burden alone.

So we are asking for a little help.

The love, friendship and emotional support are already surrounding Ju in abundance. Now we are hoping to turn some of that love into practical support too.

Recentemente, a vida pediu que a Ju fosse extremamente corajosa.

A Ju foi diagnosticada com uma forma agressiva de câncer de mama, o que significou ter pouquíssimo tempo para assimilar a notícia antes de precisar começar a agir. Tudo aconteceu muito rápido.

Ela já passou por uma grande cirurgia nas mamas e, em breve, começará a próxima etapa dessa jornada: um longo e intenso tratamento, que incluirá quimioterapia.

E, no meio de tudo isso, existe outro sonho precioso que precisa ser protegido: o sonho da Ju e do Luiz de construir uma família.

Antes de iniciar a quimioterapia, a Ju precisa passar pelo processo de preservação da fertilidade para proteger seus óvulos e, com eles, a possibilidade de terem os filhos que sempre sonharam.

Mesmo diante de tudo o que está acontecendo agora, eles também precisam pensar e cuidar do futuro que sempre sonharam em construir juntos.

A Ju não tem acesso ao Medicare, o sistema público de saúde da Austrália, o que significa que os custos do tratamento ficam integralmente por conta dela e do Luiz.

A cirurgia, por si só, já representou um custo enorme e, infelizmente, foi apenas o começo. Ainda estão pela frente a preservação da fertilidade, consultas médicas, exames, medicamentos e todos os custos relacionados ao tratamento contra o câncer.

Ainda existe uma longa estrada pela frente. E é por isso que estamos aqui.

Apesar de tudo, Ju e Luiz seguem fortes, unidos e extremamente otimistas em relação ao tratamento e ao prognóstico. E todos nós que os amamos compartilhamos desse otimismo.

Existe muita esperança, muitos planos, muita arte ainda para ser criada e uma vida inteira esperando pela Ju depois desse capítulo.

Mas o otimismo não faz com que a realidade prática desapareça.

Além de todo o amor e apoio emocional que podemos oferecer, neste momento eles também precisam de apoio financeiro. Queremos garantir que, enquanto Ju e Luiz enfrentam tudo o que vem com um diagnóstico de câncer e um longo tratamento pela frente, eles não precisem carregar sozinhos também todo o peso financeiro dessa jornada.

Por isso, estamos pedindo uma pequena ajuda.
