About Me

For those who may not be familiar with my story, my journey with kidney disease began nearly ten years ago and has been a constant battle ever since. Despite the countless challenges I have faced, my love for music has served as a source of strength and joy throughout the years. Playing the violin with the Peninsula Symphony Orchestra in the San Francisco Bay Area and swimming have been instrumental in keeping me going, even amidst the demanding schedule of dialysis treatments. I strive for balance, whether it be through my work as an Instructional Designer or my volunteer mediator roles.

My husband, Gary, has been my unwavering support system, always standing by my side through the ups and downs of my health journey. Our love has been a beacon of light during the darkest moments, and I am grateful for his steadfast presence in my life.

The Situation

My current schedule revolves around dialysis treatments four days a week, leaving little time for work, hobbies, and daily activities. As I navigate this challenging reality, a kidney transplant has emerged as my sole hope for survival and the opportunity to lead a normal, healthy life once again.

The Financial Challenge:

Although I am thankful for the progress made in medical technology that has made this transplant a possibility, the financial implications are daunting. From the costs of the surgery itself to post-operative care, medications, and the necessity of relocating for healthcare purposes, the financial strain is far more than I can handle independently. I am in need of $20,000 in order to fully fund the kidney transplant process.
