Help J.R. Overcome Medical Challenges and Heal
Donation protected
My name is Brad and I am helping our friend J.R. set up a GoFundMe to help pay for his unexpected but necessary medical bills.
If you don't know J.R., he's the morning show host for 103.7 KEYN! This is J.R.'s second time moving to Wichita, but he was excited to return to our city this time. You may remember J.R. in the early 2000s as the afternoon drive host on Power 93.9 (now 93.5).
Here's why we're raising money:
J.R. went into Wesley Woodlawn on November 01, 2024, complaining about groin pain and a bad cough. J.R. found out that he wasn't leaving anytime soon due to a cardiac enzyme present in his blood and kidney function being bad and below normal. J.R. was seen by great doctors at Wesley. They started dialysis treatment and later found some major blockage in his heart. The cardiologist determined that J.R. soon needed open-heart surgery to conduct bypasses and repair a valve. He was transferred to Wesley's main campus on Central to ensure he received the best care possible.
On November 11, 2024, J.R. had his surgery and began his road to recovery. It's not been a smooth road, but J.R. is fighting through it. While J.R. does have insurance, there will be a sizable amount still owned and without working, there isn't money coming in for his bills. This money would be used to pay bills and pay against the BIG bills coming soon. I set the goal at $1,000 because we do not know what he'll need. If we hit that goal, we'll raise it higher.
If you know J.R., you know he's a kind, uplifting man of God, trying to make a difference in our community. So, if you can, please help J.R. get back on his feet and return to what he does best... entertaining us in the morning and impacting our community.
