Help JP (Jean Paul) Heal from Severe Spinal Injury
Donation protected
Hi Friends,
Our good buddy JP is in a bit of a pickle. He hit a patch of ice on the road and flipped his truck. He broke his C1 & C2 vertebrae. They thought he might heal with stabilization, but on his follow-up doctor's appointment, one of the discs had split in half, which could have resulted in paralysis or loss of life.
So they called an emergency surgery for Tuesday the 18th. This is him before surgery in his brand new halo (his first, he said;-)
He is having an Occipital Cervical Fusion (I think), which is where they fuse together, in his case, the 3 topmost cervical vertebrae to the skull (look it up;-). This will severely limit his ability to move his head for the rest of his life.
Update: Friday 2/21

The day after.
Yes, he's clearly still jacked up on anesthesia ;-)
The operation went well, he was in there some 5 hours! They had to take the Fusion down to include C4 because of the limited capacity of C1-C2.
Jean Paul has helped so many people thru his volunteer work, as well as just pitching in for anybody in need. Now it's our turn to give him a little boost as his body heals and he is able to adjust his body to get some income.
Anything you can donate to help him in his recovery will help tremendously!!!
