Help the Angleas save their beloved Parmesan!

Donation protected
I am creating this fundraiser for my friend Jozie, her family, and their new horse Parmesan.

They need to help pay for a very costly and very unexpected emergency visit and admission for him at the Marion DuPont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, VA.

I noted he wasn’t right around 6 pm last night and pulled him into the barn from his field. He appeared to be colicking, so I started treatment, praying I could manage it without intervention. Sadly, he declined and was found to have a high temp even with pain medication on board, that would also have helped reduce fever. Jozie was at work, so her husband Steven came out, and we called the vet for an emergency visit. Dr. Welker of Damascus Equine got there quickly and was amazing in her care and treatment of Parm. She left instructions on how to manage him and what signs and symptoms warranted a call to her if he worsened overnight. Jozie came straight from work and got set up in the barn to stay with Parmesan overnight.

She called me around 4:45 AM to let me know he was sweating, breathing very fast, and was very uncomfortable. I went out and found him to have much higher respiratory and heart rates, in addition to other concerning signs. At this point, he was definitely in need of more medical intervention. I called Dr. Welker, and she set us up for admission to Leesburg. We are here now waiting for diagnostics to give us a care plan for Parm and a clue about what is going on with him. This horse is literally a childhood dream come true for Jozie, and she has poured her heart, soul, and a lot of money into him in the two months she’s had him. Jozie is an Army veteran, and her husband Steven is currently in the process of retiring from the Army after 20 years of service to our country. Together, they have 7 wonderful kids. To say that I am so lucky to have them in my life and call them my friends would be an understatement. I am hoping that everyone this post reaches will donate in some way to help them manage this huge and unexpected bill to save their already much-loved horse Parmesan. He’s a sweet, goofy, and lovable boy and only 8 years old. The hope is for him to be a safe and fun horse for all the kids to be able to ride and enjoy. So far, he’s been giving pony rides and loving all the attention he gets from his new family. Please, please, please, find it in your heart to donate; any amount will help, and share this post to reach as many people as possible.
