Hello everyone,

My name is Jozelle Banks. I am a third-year undergraduate violin and viola performance major at East Carolina University. This summer, I have been blessed with the opportunity to study chamber music abroad in Taiwan.

The Taiwan study abroad program is three weeks long. It is geared towards introducing the ECU School of Music students to musical styles and cultures in Asia, as well as different attitudes and approaches to everyday life.

As a student in the School of Music, I will get to study with the top Taiwanese composers, performers, and teachers through the University of Taipei and Tunghai University, which will also introduce me to Mandarin Chinese language and Taiwanese culture.

Funds for this program will go towards the overall program tuition, which includes flight, tuition fees, registration fees, housing, and meals. The opportunity to experience high-level musical training and language curriculum in such a beautiful country is once in a lifetime. Any contribution is helpful!
