Joy has had more than her share of challenges this year, but through it all she has continued to show love, strength, and resilience. Earlier this year, her home suffered a major leak that left her with heavy financial burdens, and just as she has been trying to recover from that, she was faced with another heartbreaking blow—her beloved boxer, Kody, has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and possibly a torn meniscus.
Kody is only four years old, full of life, joy, and personality. He’s the kind of dog that lights up every room, never without his frisbees, and always ready to bring a smile to anyone he meets. Recently, Kody even became a big brother to Lucky, a tiny kitten Joy rescued from the middle of the road and bottle-fed back to health. The two are now inseparable—true soulmates in fur.
But for months, Kody has been suffering. What was once thought to be a simple pulled muscle has turned into the reality that he will need ACL surgery, followed by a custom brace and long recovery. For Joy, who works hard as the sole provider in her household, this is an overwhelming and unexpected financial strain. Kody truly is the love of her life, and the thought of him not being able to run, play, and live his best years is heartbreaking.
If you feel that gentle nudge to help, please consider donating toward Kody’s surgery, his brace, and his medical care. Every single contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference. Joy is the type of person who gives selflessly without ever asking for much in return, and I know she would be forever grateful for the kindness and support shown to her and her sweet Kody. Together, we can help get this boy back on his feet—and back to his happy, carefree, loving self!
