Hi, My name is Gabrielle,

I am raising money for my grandma back home in Barbados. She is extremely ill, and with spiralling costs, I am trying to help her as much as possible.

Last year on November 2021, my grandma went to the hospital because of the pain she was getting; they ran tests and did scans and were unable to confirm that the mass was cancerous; after enduring further pain, she then went back in March 2022, and the further inconclusive test were repeated. In August 2022, the pain became unbearable, resulting in Gran going for further test

 This is when it was confirmed that it is stage 4 Cholangiocarcinoma Cancer and at a terminal stage. Recently gran has been further ill, and the cost of her pain relief has continued to rise. As her pain worsens her pain threshold.

My grandma's name is Joyce Nicholas, and she is swiftly approaching 70.  Had her diagnosis been confirmed as cancer earlier, we believe there may have been a chance of killing the cancer cells, and potentially extending gran’s life. She has gone from being a very bubbly and lively person, to lying in bed, very dependant of people’s support for her day to day life.

The picture of her on the left was taken in July 2022 on her birthday, and the image on the right was taken on the 4th of November 2022; you can see the deterioration this is having on her.

I want her final days to be comfortable and to ensure she gets the treatment she deserves, as she cannot do anything about it alone. We have been paying since August but can no longer afford the costs, which is why we are reaching out for help.

Doctor’s visits are becoming more frequent and expensive and cost upwards of $300 per visit.

We would really appreciate any help towards the cost of this.
