Hello everyone — I’m reaching out to ask for your help in supporting the family and friends of my executive assistant, Joyce, who are among the many people devastated by Typhoon Tino in Cebu, Philippines.
On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, Typhoon Tino triggered massive flooding in the city of Cebu City, with half of the barangays submerged and thousands of residents displaced.
Areas like Barangays Talamban, Bacayan, and Basak Pardo were hit especially hard.
At the time of reporting, over 1,374 families (5,005 individuals) were in evacuation shelters in the north, and in the south, 3,189 families (12,070 individuals) had been displaced.
Sadly, Joyce’s family home is among those affected — their house has been flooded and they have been forced to evacuate. With the flooding, power outages, evacuations, and the extensive damage, they now face the daunting task of recovery: temporary shelter, food, clean water, medical needs, and rebuilding basic conditions.
That is why I’m launching this fundraiser:
To provide immediate relief: safe shelter, food supplies, clean water, medical & hygiene kits for Joyce’s family and friends.
To meet urgent living needs until more systemic aid arrives.
To help them rebuild and recover once the waters recede — including home repairs, furniture replacement, essential living supplies, and maybe even relocation if needed.
To show compassion and solidarity — they are good people who’ve supported Joyce, and now they need our support.
How Your Donation Helps
Every contribution, big or small, will go directly to:
A safe temporary shelter for the evacuated family and other close friends impacted.
Purchasing clean drinking water, food packages, hygiene & sanitation kits.
Medical treatment and supplies for any injuries or illnesses.
Clearing debris, drying out the home, flood cleanup supplies, and repairing immediate damage.
Replacing essential household items lost or destroyed in the flooding.
Ensuring they are back on their feet as quickly as possible.
Accountability & Updates
I commit to full transparency and will provide updates on how funds are used, with photos and progress reports (to the extent feasible and safe for the family). We will track costs and expenditures, and you will see how your generosity makes a difference.
Why It Matters
Typhoon Tino’s impact in Cebu has been severe: widespread flooding, evacuation of thousands of families, and damaged infrastructure. For Joyce’s family, this event upended their lives overnight. Right now they need immediate help — and we have an opportunity to step in and show them they’re not alone.
Final Ask
Please donate if you can — every dollar counts. And if you’re unable to give financially, sharing this campaign with your network will help amplify the reach and increase the support. Let’s help Joyce’s family and friends rebuild their lives and restore hope after this disaster.
Thank you deeply for your compassion, your time, and your generosity.
— Chad
