Hello everyone I’m here making a GoFundMe for my mom Joyce. For those that don’t know she has been fighting stage 4 cancer for over a year and throughout that time there have been other battles that she has had to fight as well. After the first couple of months of fighting, she found out that she had a staghorn kidney stone that almost engulfed her whole left kidney. Also a lot of smaller kidney stones in the right kidney. This made her have to stop chemo and deal with being in the hospital for weeks doing all she could to get the kidney stone broken down and then surgically removed. My mom also had to get an ostomy. For people that don’t know what that is, her small intestine was cut and one of the small intestines was pushed through her abdominal wall and diverted what your colon usually does for you into a bag that you have to wear 24/7. This caused her to stop working and focus on whatever she could do to win the fight. And still, she is in high spirits and fighting every day as best she can.

While I was setting up this GoFundMe I got a call informing me that my mom just got emitted back into the hospital… The tumors in her liver are growing and causing a dangerous infection.

Through this whole thing, there has been one huge blessing in her life that all of (us) her family couldn’t be more grateful for. Her boyfriend (now her fiancé) chose to stick by her side and take on all the bills and supporting not only her and her littlest boy Jaxson. Every day he would make sure that she had everything she needed and would go work 2 jobs with overtime just to make sure she didn’t have to worry about anything financial. As Joyce’s second oldest son, I am so grateful and appreciate everything he has sacrificed and done for my mom. *If you’re reading this JB we love you so much and have an appreciation for you that my vocabulary can’t describe*

But as the past year has gone by, and medical bills have stacked up; we really need help to keep fighting. As a family, we try and do everything we can to help but right now times are getting really hard with money and my mom (Joyce) has even started working doing massage therapy again just so that she can make sure ends are met and that she can continue her chemo. It makes me sad to know my mom doesn’t always feel the best and tries to hide it with a smile to make us as a family not worry. But as strong as I know my mom is and knowing she doesn’t like asking for help, is the reason I am making this GoFund Me for her. She is the most loving and giving person I know but never likes asking or taking help from anyone even if she is going through a life-or-death battle. So since she won’t ask I took it upon myself to do the best I can and get as much help from the people that know and love her. And hopefully, reach people that don’t know her or our family at all.

My mom has her good days when she isn’t too sick and can be herself which makes things seem like they are going to be okay. But there are also those days when it’s hard to even see her because without telling us, you can tell she is fighting extra hard just to get through the days. I especially feel bad for my little brother Jaxson because he is only 5 and is a huge momma’s boy and when he sees mom going through the tough days it seems to take a little toll on him too. But even on those days, I watch my mom try and act like everything is okay and still try to be the happy, loving, bubbly mom that Jaxson knows and loves so that he doesn’t have to worry if his mom is going to be okay.
