Hello, my name is Joyce. I am a student who is currently enrolled at San Diego State University. I am in college currently studying Political Science and International Security and Conflict Resolution. With my studies, I am hoping to eventually continue my education and work within the American government to make a better society for every American, starting from those most disenfranchised in our society. This school year, I will be going into my second year of college, but to do so, I have to raise $1,000 by the end of this Labor Day weekend. This GoFundMe is made in an effort to help me reach the last bit of funds needed for me to go back to school.

During my freshman year, I participated in 3 clubs over the year. I was a part of Model UN, InterVarsity, as well as Black Campus Ministries. My experiences within these organizations have been invaluable to me as a student and have grown me as a person. Being at San Diego State has offered me a range of opportunities that I could only have dreamed of in the past. I worked really hard this year to be in positions of leadership, as this upcoming year I will be stepping into the presidency of both Ignite, a club that aims to increase the involvement of women in politics, as well as InterVarsity, a club that works to help students find and follow Jesus Christ.

College has not just been a dream of mine, but of my mother as well. My mother has always hoped to raise an educated and well-rounded individual, and each day, I strive to prove to her that the sacrifices she has made in the past were not in vain. By donating to this fundraiser, you will be donating to that exact dream.

As Joyce's roommates we would like to say a few things about the type of person Joyce is, not only as a student but as some of her best friends. Joyce is the sweetest and most hilarious person we have ever met, somehow managing to bring joy to every situation, even through difficult times. She’s had such a positive impact on everyone around her in San Diego, she has a way of making every day better by just being there. Joyce is also the hardest-working student we have ever seen. From living with her, we have watched her pour endless hours into studying late into the night. She doesn’t just do it because she has to, but because she genuinely cares about her future and wants to give herself every opportunity to succeed. Her determination and work ethic are inspiring, and her passion she brings to everything she does drives us to be better students and people. If anyone has proven themselves worthy of continuing their education, it is Joyce; she is the type of person to use the education she receives to make the world a better place.
