On the evening of November 29, 2020, Joyce Fitzgerald and her step-daughter were about to make Christmas candles at home. They heard a loud noise outside and ran to see what had happened. In a terrible turn of events, a man had hit their car, drove into their yard, then assaulted Joyce, dragged her with his car, and then ran over her. Joyce was left with catastrophic injuries to both of her feet. She was hospitalized for 31 days, and had 5 surgeries to repair the horrific injuries to her feet and almost all of the bones in both of her ankles and heels. She will need many more surgeries before she will be able to bear any weight on her feet and then will begin a long rehabilitation process. Please pray for Joyce’s healing. Chris, her husband, is my first cousin. Chris and Joyce have had a very difficult road so far but have remained strong. They know they have many more challenges ahead. Chris is taking care of her and has continued working full time as a General Manager. Of course, they have lost Joyce’s income for the foreseeable future. Their insurance will only pay part of the mounting medical bills which have already begun arriving in the mail. It’s difficult to ask for help sometimes, but they are going need help during this extremely difficult time. I know they would be so very grateful for any amount that you can give. It’s going to be a long haul, and we pray that others can help to make it just a little bit easier. Thank you!
