Our daughter Joy has been given an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She received a personal invitation to join a youth choir performing with Grammy-nominated violinist Jenny Oaks Baker at the National Mall in Washington, D.C. as part of the America 250 celebration. Joy is only 11, but music has been part of her heart from the very beginning. Her birth was a miracle—my wife survived a rare amniotic fluid embolism, and we have been grateful every day for the chance to watch Joy grow, thrive, and share her gifts.
Joy has always loved singing. She is part of the Intermountain Chorale Artists young artists program, which helped open some of these opportunities for her. She performed in the children’s choir that sang “Gethsemane” during the October 2024 LDS General Conference, and she has sung in choirs accompanying Jenny Oaks Baker before, including the American Mosaic concert series and a performance for the Stella Oaks Foundation. This invitation is a recognition of her dedication and her love for music. Music is more than a hobby for Joy—it’s a source of happiness and connection, and she dreams of sharing her voice with others for years to come.
To participate in this historic event, Joy will travel with her mom to Washington, D.C. We are raising funds to help make this dream possible for her. If you feel moved to support Joy in this unforgettable opportunity, we would be deeply grateful. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps her take the stage and share her voice in a moment she will remember for the rest of her life. Thank you for supporting Joy, her music, and this incredible milestone.
