Dear friends, kind strangers, and compassionate hearts,
We come to you today with heavy hearts to share the heartbreaking story of Joy and her two young children(Dave & Isabel)— a family whose world was forever changed in an instant.
On a quiet Sunday morning, Joy’s husband — a loving father, devoted husband, and the foundation of their small immigrant family —, the unimaginable happened. He woke up and collapsed suddenly while heading to the bathroom and immediately passed away. Though he had a minor underlying health issues which was being treated by the hospital but not life threatening. There was no warning. No sign, No time for goodbyes. Just an unexpected silence that now echoes through their home.
Joy is now left to pick up the pieces of a life that was built on love, resilience, and hope for a better future in a new country. As an immigrant mother, she has already faced more challenges than many can imagine — Joy and her husband has been caring for their little daughter Isabel who had a brain tumour and have undergone 4 surgeries for Craniopharyngiomas from 2021 till date. With on going medical treatment and follow up. These has taken a toll on Joy and her family.
Now, she faces the greatest challenge of all: laying her beloved husband to rest with dignity while comforting their grieving children, who still ask when their daddy is coming home.
Joy will continue raising her children in a new land, far from family, support systems, and familiar comforts.
As you can imagine, there’s no savings, no safety net. Funeral costs are overwhelming, and Joy is navigating all this while trying to stay strong for her children. She is grieving, heartbroken and scared.
We are reaching out to you — to the kindness of strangers, friends, and community — to help Joy raise the funds needed to cover the funeral and burial expenses. She is doing everything she can, but she cannot do this alone.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings hope and relief to this grieving family. Your support will go directly toward funeral costs and give Joy and her children the chance to mourn without the added burden of financial hardship. Every little bit helps — whether it’s $5 or $50. And if you can’t give right now, sharing this story is also a huge act of love.
Please help us honor a life taken too soon, and support a mother who now must carry the weight of two hearts while her own is breaking.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you.
