I’ve been given a once-in-a-lifetime honor: The International Forums of Inclusion Practitioners (IFIP) has invited me to be part of a formal delegation at the World Inclusion Congress (WIC) in Almaty, Kazakhstan this October.
As a delegation member, I’ll join leading voices from around the world to exchange ideas, share expertise, and contribute to shaping the future of inclusive education. This journey will continue in March 2026 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, where our work from Kazakhstan will carry forward into high-level policy conversations.
✨ Why This Matters
This opportunity gives me and the other delegates the chance to:
- for me, that means going from a dyslexic learner once misunderstood to a neurodivergent adult and advocate now shaping the future of inclusion.
- Shine a light on the widespread blindspot of neurodiversity in education and society.
- Engage with leaders: WIC brings together 50+ Ministers of Education, policymakers, experts, and innovators.
- Shape policy: Contribute to the Almaty Declaration on Inclusive Education, a landmark statement that will inform international efforts for years to come.
- Gain formal recognition: Our delegation is formally recognized by IFIP and supported by generous Kazakh hosts.
This is not just about my voice, it’s about expanding the mission of The Joy of Neurodiversity: ensuring that the voices of neurodivergent learners, educators, and society at large are included in shaping the policies and practices that will define a more inclusive future.
Why I Need Your Support
Unlike many international gatherings, the World Inclusion Congress asks each delegate to self-fund participation. That ensures independence, but it can keep powerful voices out due to financial barriers.
That’s where you come in. By contributing, you’re not only helping cover travel, accommodation, and participation, you’re ensuring a neurodivergent leader and advocate has a seat at the table where inclusion is being defined.
