We hope to use this GofundMe to make a dream of a deserving young man come true and if we have some money left; to pay for his medical accommodations. Please help us bring some joy to Josue, who has brought cheer to others despite spending 19 years of his life-fighting Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne. If you know him, you know he has a big heart for his family and enjoys sharing with others. Unfortunately, if you know him, you also know he is having a hard time battling the syndrome, side effects of its medications, and recently heart dysfunctions (fibroma).
Josue was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy when he was four years old. Since then, he has been unable to run and play like other kids because his muscles give up. He was permanently placed in a wheelchair at 12 when the syndrome advanced to his lower abdominal area. Now, his arms cannot fully extend; he still has mobility on his fingers but needs 24/7 assistance to do any task during the day.
He is also battling a fibroma in his heart. As a result of his immobility, he has started to get bone marrow transplant treatment once every three months to slow the deterioration of his bones. There is NO CURE for Josue's illness; the only thing left is to wait till his time has come. Doctors say he only has 5-8 years left to live at most.
Anyone having such challenges so young struggles daily with mental health, but Josue shows us it is possible to smile and have a dream. His biggest wish is to TRAVEL TO DISNEY WORLD before he cannot move a single muscle in his body; before his condition, including his heart problems, makes him unable to go.
Josue is the third of four kids, and he wants his mom and siblings to go on the trip of his life. Two of his siblings are young adults who could afford to go to the park by themselves. Despite their family's financial support, they cannot afford a trip for Josue, his mom, and his sister. His mom cannot work because she is his nurse 24/7 and his sister is only 13 years old. Several days at Walt Disney World will be the most exciting adventure that Josue could have in his whole life. He has never been able to be part of small or big events at his school like other kids, but Disney is a park equipped for wheelchairs.
If you want to support this cause by donating money or a flight ticket. Our primary goal is to meet Josue's dream. If we meet Josue's trip goal, any additional money will go directly for his care and make his remaining time more comfortable.
This support will tremendously impact Josue's life and his family, so please help before it is too late and things get rougher than they are; help so they have a significant memory to hold on to.
Your support is massively appreciated.
Blesses overload!
