Josie recently overcame breast cancer and esophageal cancer in 2021. She put up a hard fight, and we are very thankful that she remains cancer free. Since her esophageal surgery, she has dealt with major complications from a structural failure via a hole that unfortunately allows her to aspirate fluids to her lungs. Since surgery, she has had pneumonia five times in the last year. Josie’s health is not thriving, and she continues to struggle with weight loss due to lack of nutrition and inability to drink and eat.
To survive, Josie will need a repair surgery to prevent further lung damage. She needs to do this new surgery to patch the hole and begin to recover and live life normally again. She will be traveling back and forth to Portland, from Sisters, for her medical care. Josie and family are so grateful for the help.
While we are all remaining positive, we are looking to our family, friends and anyone else looking to help with covering the expenses that come along with this journey.
