Hi everyone,
My sweet Corgi, Josie, was hospitalized on Wednesday after suddenly becoming very sick. She was extremely lethargic, wouldn’t eat, was vomiting, and started tremoring. When we rushed her to the hospital, the vets discovered that her potassium, sodium, blood sugar, and blood pressure were all dangerously out of range—and her heart rhythm had become faint.
It was one of the scariest days of my life watching her fight so hard just to stay stable. Josie has now been hospitalized for over 24 hours, and we’ve just learned she’s been diagnosed with Addison’s disease, a lifelong condition that requires ongoing care and medication.
The good news is that Josie is showing amazing improvement. Her vitals are slowly returning to normal, and she finally ate and kept food down today. If her blood sugar levels stay steady overnight, she’ll be able to come home tomorrow morning.
We’re so grateful she’s responding to treatment, but the cost of her emergency care and hospitalization has been overwhelming. We’re hoping to raise $10,000 to help cover Josie’s medical bills and the ongoing treatment she’ll need to live a happy, healthy life.
Josie has always been such a bright, loving little soul—she greets everyone she meets with joy and has brought so much comfort and laughter into my life. Seeing her sick and hooked up to IVs has been heartbreaking, but I know she’s fighting hard to get back home.
Any amount, no matter how small, truly means the world and helps us give Josie the care she needs. Even sharing this page helps more than you know.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading Josie’s story and for keeping her in your thoughts.
