Help Josie & Carey Relocate to Minneapolis!

Good people of T-town!!

We’re writing to announce a bittersweet departure from our beloved hometown of Tulsa, OK to the Twin Cities (where Prince is from!). This comes in the wake of an unprecedented wave of both federal and state anti-transgender policies specifically designed to write us out of public life. Legislation such as Oklahoma House Bill 1217 among many others bills are actively shifting public narrative in Oklahoma and more importantly opening the door for the lawful arrest of transgender individuals on the legal charge of “Public Display of Obscene Material.” With daily life for trans people already being as hard as it is in our state, we have decided it's time to search for more equal treatment in a new city. (Fun fact! Minneapolis, MN was the first city to enshrine Transgender legal protections in the US & Minnesota was the first state!) We are heartbroken to leave the only place that we have ever known, but are hopeful that our lives in Minneapolis will be more peaceful. We are kindly reaching out to our community for some help in covering the cost of our move. Anything helps, everything is appreciated, but nothing is expected. Also if you have friends or family in the Twin City area we would love to connect and make new friends!! Our ultimate hope is to bring a little bit of Tulsa with us to the big city! Like all good things, our time here has unfortunately come to an end. We wish it were under different circumstances, though we hope this isn’t goodbye.
