Help Josiah Compete In Las Vegas For The Nationals
Donation protected
My name is Josiah Benton-Lowe, I am a sophomore at Marlboro County High School. I serve as the secretary for the student government body of MCHS, a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Varsity Football and Wrestling Team. I am also a member of Community of Grace Church where I am a part of the media ministry. I am also a photographer and a graphic designer.
I participated in the ACT-SO NAACP Scotland County Oratorical Contest, and I won on the state level. On the week of July 10-15, 2024, I will be traveling to Las Vegas to compete on the national level. By traveling and meeting other contestants while representing our region I will have the opportunity to meet others from other states.
This will be a great learning experience for me. Again, I will travel to Las Vegas on July 10th - 15th. My family and I would appreciate your assistance with this year's travel expenses to Las Vegas. Your donation will be a great asset in helping my family prepare for this fantastic opportunity. Your contribution will help us reach our goal. I would like to express my gratitude and thank you for considering donating to a life changing experience.
What is ACT-SO? ACT-SO was founded in 1978 by author and journalist Vernon Jarrett. The program is intended to provide recognition to young people who could demonstrate academic, scientific, and artistic achievement, allowing young people to gain recognition equal to that often achieved by entertainers and athletes. ACT-SO aims to recognize creative talent and academic achievement in the next generation of leaders. Provide and assist students with the necessary skills to establish goals and acquire the confidence and training to make a successful contribution to society.
Mobilize adults to promote academic and artistic excellence.
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
