Help Joshua Recover After Lung Transplant
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Maggie. Back at beginning January 2023 my son, Joshua, got MRSA pneumonia. Joshua spent four months in the ICU at Legacy Emanuel in Portland Oregon, on ECMO, and another two months in the hospital recovering. He ended up losing about 80% of his lung function and in need of a lung transplant. He's spent the last years getting strong enough and healthy enough for such an extensive surgery. Finally in early September of this year he was strong enough and was officially put on the lung transplant list. On October 2nd around 8pm we got the call that lungs were available. 3 hours later we were in Seattle at the University of Washington Medical Center. That was just over 4 weeks ago. Up until now, we've been fortunate, in that Joshua's insurance has paid for most of the expenses. At this point we will be up here in Seattle through most of January, until Joshua is ready to go home. Though, I think we could squeak by, some friends and family have asked several times now how they can help and want to give us money to help out. So I've decided to set up this Go Fund Me and be gracious enough to accept their help. If others would like to help, your gift will go towards gas, food and the incidentals of setting up a second household for 3 months, and will be greatly appreciated. Light and Love, Maggie
