Joshua is my son, and he is currently facing one of the toughest battles of his life. As a type one diabetic, he has struggled with health challenges for years, but now he is fighting kidney failure and urgently needs a dual transplant for both his kidney and pancreas. At just 38 years old, Joshua has been approved for both transplants, and his surgeon believes he is an excellent candidate. Despite this hope, the financial burden is overwhelming. His costs for dialysis and medical bills have already become significant, and the debt is becoming impossible to manage.
Before dialysis, Joshua was an avid disc golf player and loved being outside. Although he had to give up the sport for a while, he is now able to play short games with a group called Disc Golf for Jesus. These men know Joshua's physical limitations and are very supportive. He takes his loyal dog Zuko with him to the park and the disc golf course. Joshua is known for his strength and giving heart, so this season of weakness has been especially difficult for him.
The funds raised through this campaign will be used to cover Joshua’s existing medical bills, travel and hotel costs to the out-of-area hospital where he will receive his transplant, the costs associated with the procedure itself, and his future recovery. Every dollar will help ease the stress and allow Joshua to focus on healing and rebuilding his life.
When we first talked about the possibility of a transplant, Joshua said, 'Maybe I could have a better life, have a family, and a place of my own.' I would love for this dream to become a reality for him. He is a proud, loving uncle to three nieces and a nephew, always showing up for them with the same generosity and care he brings to everyone in his life. Your support can lift the financial burden and give Joshua a real chance at healing, hope, and the future he wishes could happen. We are deeply grateful for any help you can offer.
