Help Joshua Rebuild After Losing Everything
Donation protected
Please consider helping my dear friend Joshua during this very difficult time.
I have known Joshua for years, and he is one of the most sincere, kind, and pure-hearted people I have ever met.
Yet life has never been easy for him. Quite the opposite, he has had to face incredibly tough challenges, ticking almost every box of what a young Black gay man in America could endure: family rejection, conversion therapy, and more.
Recently, after a physical and legal struggle with a roommate who had fallen into severe drug addiction, Joshua lost his apartment. He had to survive in extremely precarious conditions, and, unable to pay for his storage, all his belongings were taken away, leaving him with nothing. Worse still, he lost the one thing that still brought him happiness—a puppy named OMAROSE (My Dear Rose in French), who was stolen from him on the streets of San Francisco.
Today, Joshua has found a new apartment in San Francisco and is trying to start fresh, but he has nothing. Absolutely nothing: no clothes, no toothbrush, no books, no art on his walls, no furniture, no computer, no plants, no cookware, no nail clippers, no forks... And I could go on and on, as the list of things missing is endless when you have nothing at all.
This is why I’m asking for your generosity today, especially on the eve of Christmas. I have started a gofundme (link in bio).
If you can, please consider donating $10 (aka half a cocktail in NYC), $20 of way more :)
To my friends in the Bay Area, if you have items to donate, we are accepting everything (food, clothes, furniture). Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me to coordinate a pick-up.
Those who know me well understand that this kind of request is unusual for me, but in this case, I felt I had to do something.
Thank you so much for your generosity.
