Help Joshua get a new heart!!!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brittany and I am fundraising for the love of my life Joshua. Joshua was born with a congenital heart defect called D-tga where his heart is backwards. At this point his heart is working at 11% and he needs a heart transplant. His hospital is NYU Langone hospital a 3 to 5 hour drive depending on traffic. The money raised will help with cost of gas for the drives for his many doctor appointments before and after Joshua's heart transplant. It will help to pay for rent of an apartment, hotel or condo for family to be able to support him during his heart transplant. The money will also help pay for any co-pays of medical bills and his many prescriptions. And lastly help with bills that we may acquire as we both are disabled and unable to work currently. Most of all the acquired funds will be so that I may be there as I need to learn to care for his heart transplant and is discharged from the hospital. Josh will need multiple heart catheters/biopsy’s every week for a couple months depending on if he has any rejections. We have been so blessed by each of you who have shared our story, educated yourself, offered a helping hand and positive thoughts and vibes and of course the donations have been nothing short of a life saver and will NEVER be forgotten! That being said, this journey has surprised us by just how many trips we go to and the costs of gas and food and lodging and then normal things like rent, groceries, car insurance and doctor bills. The list is never ending and unfortunately we are finally out of funds and in dire need. We promise to do my very best to repay all your kindnesses. This journey has proven the saying, “it takes a village” is far more true than we could have ever imagined!! THANK YOU FROM THE SOUL OF MY HEART TO EACH OF YOU WHO EXTENDED A HAND! You are so VERY APPRECIATED and LOVED!
On a more personal level... my fiancé is the love of my life. To watch all of what he go's through on a day to day is heart breaking. He has shortness of breath and trouble walking from it. He has trouble drinking and eating for the same reason. He has been in and out of the hospital as his lungs are filling up with fluid. It is a scary life and I can't imagine my life without him. This fundraising will help more then you can imagine. Anything helps and please, please share this post as awareness and education about dextro transpositions of the great arteries or d-tga is just as important to us. Thank you so very much in advance!
