Myself Athena Galarza and my husband Angel Galarza are parents and no matter how old our children are we worry about them. We want them to be safe, we want them to prosper and attain all of the goals they set forth for themselves. Then you receive a call that sends you into internal panic, internal because you can’t allow your child to know that you are panicking and feeling helpless. No you have to be strong, for as your son talks you realize that he and his partner may have lost everything in a blink of an eye. Then when you meet them at their complex you realize they have. Our son Joshua and his partner Allysa have lost everything in a fire that ripped through their complex. Due to the heroic actions of a dear friend, Allysa safely escaped the blaze saving their fur babies and beetles. But everything else was lost. They now face the challenge of rebuilding from the ashes of what once was, and starting a new, but this comes with a cost. If anyone could find it in their hearts to help this wonderful couple rebuild and move forward we would greatly appreciate it.
