Help us make Josh's bathroom handicap accessible!
Donation protected
My name is Amy, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my brother-in-law Josh and his sweet family! Josh is married to Kali and together they have 3 adorable little boys! Josh was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy when he was a young adult and today is fully dependent on his wheelchair in his everyday life. Muscular Dystrophy is a degenerative disease with no cure, but Josh has always maintained a positive attitude for his sweet boys!
As a young growing family, they live in a cute home with one bathroom. The bathroom isn't wheelchair accessible which presents some challenges for Josh who is dependent on his chair. Two weeks ago, while Josh was trying to transition from the bathroom, he collapsed and severely fractured his lower leg in several places. While a broken leg is serious in and of itself, it tends to hold a different level of severity for someone that has MD. After a very lengthy process of trying to get Josh into a rehab facility, he's finally been accepted into a facility that is going to help him build some strength and mobility again. Josh is putting in hours of therapy everyday to try and rebuild what was lost while in the hospital so he can return home to his boys who he hasn't been able to see since his accident.
The reason for this GoFundMe: Josh's long term health and accessibility are a top priority. They desperately need to renovate their only bathroom so that it will be handicap accessible for Josh. The most important being a wide enough bathroom door for his chair and a handicap accessible shower and commode. These are things that we all take advantage of on a day to day basis, but without them Josh's own bathroom won't be accessible to him.
If you are touched by Josh's story and would like to contribute to this family's blessing, every single dollar will help and they will be SO grateful.
