Help Josh Suender Fight Stage 4 PNET Cancer

With heavy hearts but unwavering hope, we share that Josh Suender—our beloved son, devoted brother, loving husband, and proud father—has been diagnosed at just 28 years old with Stage 4 metastatic pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNET). This rare and slow-growing form of cancer has already spread to his liver, presenting a serious and urgent need to begin treatment.

Josh’s diagnosis has come as a devastating shock to all who know and love him. At such a young age, he has already built a life centered around faith, service, and family. He is a cherished son and brother, a devoted husband to his wife Jocelyn, and a loving father to their two young boys, Joash and Judah. Josh serves faithfully as the Experience Pastor at Faith Community Church in Clayton, NC, where he is deeply loved by his church family and community.

Despite the gravity of this diagnosis, we are holding fast to hope. Josh’s medical team is recommending a series of major surgeries to remove as much of the cancer as possible. Because this type of cancer typically does not respond well to chemotherapy, surgery—along with targeted radiation—is his best path forward.

Gratefully, Josh’s church family has been incredibly supportive and gracious, allowing the time and space they need during this initial phase of treatment. However, with multiple surgeries and a long recovery ahead, our family is reaching out to our wider community with a heartfelt request for much needed support.

How You Can Help:

1. Prayer
We believe in the power of prayer. Please join us in praying for Josh’s healing, for strength and peace for Jocelyn, Joash, and Judah, and for wisdom for his medical team.

2. Financial Support
We are seeking to raise $50,000 to help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance—such as co-pays, travel, and surgical costs. Every gift, large or small, eases the burden and allows Josh and his family to focus on what matters most: healing and being together.

3. Meals & Gift Cards
For those in the Raleigh/Clayton area, we’re organizing a meal train to help provide home-cooked meals for the Suender family. If you're farther away, contributions toward restaurant gift cards or quick meal options are also a huge blessing.

As you know, Josh has always poured his heart into serving others. He’s that guy—the one who shows up, gives generously, and leads with humility and love. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Though the road ahead is uncertain, we hold onto hope and believe the best is still to come for Josh and his family. We humbly invite you to support them in any way you can—through prayer, a financial gift, a warm meal, or simply by sharing their story.
Josh is not walking this journey alone. He is carried by the love of his family, the strength of his faith, and a community that believes in miracles. Thank you for standing beside him. Your support—however you give—is deeply felt and truly appreciated.
